tin designs
Working within a circle for these brand collaborations has been much more engaging than I initially expected. After I completed my first few tins, I was worried I would run out of ideas with a such a repetitive prompt – I was so wrong. Each time a new restaurant or event reaches out, I generate whole new sets of ideas based on their branding, some of which are general enough that I am able to continue to iterate in the future. It has functioned as a rapid ideation exercise that never ends, and one I will continue to enjoy.
menu designs
I have never paid as much attention to menus when I am eating out as I have since being charged with multiple menu designs in my current position. Unsurprisingly, as a primarily digital designer, the physical use menus were more challenging, and required more learning on my end than the ones that were to be viewed as a PDF. The bistro menu in particular required physical product design thinking- something I honed in architecture, but hadn't used for work in years.
